OCCUPATIONAL RISK PREVENTION TECHNICIAN-LAS PALMAS

For our offices in Las Palmas and to provide services to the different business units, we are looking to hire a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician who will carry out the evaluation and monitoring of the organization’s safety assessment plans.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Development/modification of safety plans
  • Preparation of risk assessments (Job Safety Assessments), emergency plans
  • Development/modification of procedures (load lifting, chemical storage, and any other related to the activity)
  • Auditing of procedures (any approved for the project)
  • Supervision of load lifting operations (own personnel, stevedores, machinery, loads, etc.)
  • Evaluation and approval of lifting plans (note: not preparation unless trained, which is desirable)
  • Supervision of chemical product storage (assessing what is considered dangerous goods and what is not)
  • Management of the ISNetworld platform (CAE Hamilton-Repsol)
  • Use of the KabaL platform (manifests, safety data sheets, certifications, etc.)
  • CAE management with supplier companies
  • Internal training of our personnel (induction, pre-job talks, and any other topics related to the activity)
  • Informational talks to external personnel (pre-job talks)
  • Verification of certifications for all lifting equipment
  • Preparation of weekly/monthly reports
  • KPI monitoring
  • Accident statistics
  • Accident/incident investigation
  • Management of prevention at the workplace (fire extinguishing means, first aid kits, base conditions, visual inspection of forklifts, signage, etc.)
  • Department purchase budgeting
  • Resolution and follow-up of observations/non-conformities
  • Daily meetings with clients, etc.
  • For the position, it is necessary to have an English level sufficient for understanding and communication.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced training in Occupational Health and Safety is required
  • A Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety in the three specialties will be positively valued
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 50001
  • Experience in the logistics sector
  • Proficiency in office tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
